Martina Mrázová je nezávislá kurátorka, historička umění a odborná konzultantka působící zejména v Praze a Brně. Věnuje se současnému umění i umění druhé poloviny 20. století a ve své práci propojuje uměleckohistorickou reflexi s filozofickým myšlením.
V kurátorské práci se zaměřuje na vztahy mezi formou, materialitou a významem uměleckého díla i na umělecké přístupy, které zpochybňují ustálené způsoby reprezentace a interpretace skutečnosti. Zajímají ji zejména otázky tělesnosti, identity, imaginace a kulturní paměti, proměny uměleckých médií i vztahy mezi člověkem a prostředím.
Je kurátorkou sochařských výstav Bastion Sculpture v Praze a festivalu Dny otevřených ateliérů na jižní Moravě. Spolupracovala mimo jiné s Trafo Gallery, The Chemistry Gallery, SPOT Gallery, Etcetera Art, Galerií Pitevna, Muzeem města Brna a White & Weiss Gallery v Bratislavě. Věnuje se také odbornému poradenství a koncepčnímu rozvoji soukromých uměleckých sbírek.
V letech 2017–2024 přednášela dějiny umění na Filozofické fakultě Masarykovy univerzity v Brně a v letech 2020–2024 na Mendelově univerzitě v Brně. Je spoluautorkou publikace Sochařské Brno 1989–2019 a autorkou řady odborných a kurátorských textů. Dlouhodobě se také věnuje výzkumu malířské tvorby Bohumíra Matala.
Vystudovala dějiny umění, filozofii a management v kultuře na Masarykově univerzitě v Brně a absolvovala studijní stáž na University of Glasgow.
Martina Mrázová is an independent curator, art historian, and art consultant working primarily in Prague and Brno. Her work spans contemporary art and art from the second half of the 20th century, bringing art-historical perspectives into dialogue with philosophical thought.
Her curatorial practice explores the relationships between form, materiality, and meaning in art, with a particular focus on artistic approaches that challenge established modes of representing and interpreting reality. Her interests encompass questions of corporeality, identity, imagination, and cultural memory, as well as transformations in artistic media and the relationships between humans and their environment.
She curates the Bastion Sculpture exhibitions in Prague and the Open Studios Days festival in South Moravia. She has collaborated with galleries and institutions including Trafo Gallery, The Chemistry Gallery, SPOT Gallery, Etcetera Art, Galerie Pitevna, Brno City Museum, and White & Weiss Gallery in Bratislava. She also provides art consultancy services and advises on the conceptual development of private art collections.
From 2017 to 2024, she taught art history at the Faculty of Arts at Masaryk University in Brno, and from 2020 to 2024 at Mendel University in Brno. She is a co-author of Sochařské Brno 1989–2019 (Sculpture in Brno 1989–2019) and has authored numerous scholarly and curatorial texts. Her research has also long focused on the work of painter Bohumír Matal.
She studied art history, philosophy, and cultural management at Masaryk University in Brno and completed a study placement at the University of Glasgow.
